Statement of Faith
About the Bible:
We believe the BIBLE, consisting of the Old and New Testament, it is the Holy and inspired Word of God. It is without error and contains the supreme and authoritative principles on which we choose to live. No other writings are vested with God's divine authority.
Psalm 119:105; Psalm 119:160; 2 Timothy 3:16;
About the Trinity:
We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in a divine and incomprehensible Trinity - the Father; the Son - Jesus Christ; and the Holy Spirit. These three persons are equal in divine perfection. They execute distinct, but harmonious work in creation, providence and redemption.
Matthew 3:16-17;2 Corinthians 13:14; Galatians 4:4-6;
About God:
We believe in one unchanging God, the Creator and Ruler of the universe; infinite in power, wisdom, justice, goodness and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully with the affairs of humankind, that He hears and answers prayers and that He saves from sin and deathall who come to Him through His son Jesus Christ.
Psalm 100:3; Romans 8:28;
About Jesus Christ:
We believe Jesus Christ, the one and only Son of God, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, led a sinless life and chose, through His obedient death on the cross, to atone for our sins. He rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and as the only mediator between God and man, will establish His kingdom on earth. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
Isaiah 42:1; Matthew 1:20-21; Philippians 2:6-11;
About the Holy Spirit:
We believe the Holy Spirit lives in all believers, convicts the world of sin and prompts us to obey Him. The Holy Spirit is an abiding helper, teacher and guide. He gives spiritual gifts to serve the church whose purpose is to make disciples of all nations.
Joel 2:28-29; Act 4:31; 1 Corinthians 12:1-11; John 16:4b-15;
About Mankind:
We
We believe all people are created in the image of God and matter deeply to Him. All have sinned and fall short of His Glory, yet through God's grace can live in communion with Him and community with each other. This gift of Grace is received through humble repentance and faith in Christ and His atonement.
Genesis 1:27-28; Romans 3:23;
About the Church:
We believe the local Church is a fellowship of believers who gathers for worship, prayer, teaching, encouragement, equipping, mutual accountability and community. They invest time, energy and resources to fulfill the Great Commission, to spread the Good News to lost people throughout their community, country and the world.
Matthew 22:37-39; Matthew 28:16-20; Acts 2:42
About Prayer:
We believe we are continually encouraged to draw near to God in prayer, confessing our sins to Him; giving Him honour and praise, and with thanksgiving, bringing our requests to Him. In response, He will forgive our sins and grant us every blessing in accordance to His unsearchable wisdom and the riches of His Grace in Jesus Christ.
Psalm 62:1; James 5:16;
About Salvation:
We believe that all people are separated from God and from birth, are sinful and lost. Salvation cannot be earned through personal goodness or human effort, but is a free gift that must be received by humble repentance, confession of sins, faith in Jesus Christ and belief in His death and resurrection.
Psalm 62:1; Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9;
